To ensure you're ready to start at Kingston, and to prepare for your Welcome and Induction Week, we wanted to highlight some of the key digital tools and applications you will need. You'll also use these a lot as a student, so it's definitely worth getting to know them early!
We recognise some students will need additional digital support to access learning. We are therefore offering a digital support package which includes a laptop loan for the duration of your course and a one-off £150 bursary to help with the costs of WiFi.
The KU mobile app allows you to access key information and services that you may find useful for your academic, co-curricular and social activities. The app will also keep you up-to-date with important information and messages. There's also a section dedicated just for Welcome and Induction.
You can access the Welcome and Induction section immediately without a username and password. Once you've enrolled you will be able to switch to the Student profile.
Download the app by searching ‘Kingston University' in your app store. To login, enter your Kingston University username, (eg. K123456), and your password. You won't need a username or password to access the dedicated Welcome and Induction section.
Canvas is Kingston University's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This platform is used by staff and students to support you throughout your modules and courses. You can access it via a web browser and through the mobile app.
You will be able to access Canvas once you have completed your online enrolment.
Open the Canvas web page. Use your Kingston email address (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org) and the password you use to login to OSIS.
Search "Canvas" in your app store. Once the app is installed on your device:
