Current research in this subject

Many of the staff in the University are research active. This ensures they are in touch with the latest thinking and bring best practice to your studies.

For example, research in media, film and drama aims to:

  • explore the expanding points of intersection between the three areas;
  • examine the new cultural forms that will emerge from them, notably in the field of digital media culture; and
  • create innovative and cross-disciplinary projects from these developments.

Research in film is wide ranging, with particular expertise in:

  • Spanish and East German cinema;
  • religion and film;
  • new developments in American film; and
  • the representation and spaces of cities in cinema.
