One of ways in which you can link theory and real business practice is through your dissertation. This requires a substantial piece of independent work investigating a real marketing-related issue concluding with recommendations that have immediately applicable managerial implications.
Our Strategy into Practice seminar series gives you the opportunity to understand strategy in enterprises of all scales. Top managers will give you first-hand accounts of managing complex organisations in the UK and internationally, promoting innovation and creativity, instituting cultural change and managing growth. Speakers to date have included Lord Hastings (KPMG, BT and UNICEF), Karen Hamilton (Unilever), and Greg Dyke (former Director General of the BBC).
In each session, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and network with academic staff and local business leaders. These seminars are also open to students, alumni, staff, the business community and the wider public.
