This course is delivered by the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing.
The Faculty's wide selection of undergraduate and postgraduate courses covers a diverse range of subject areas, from aerospace to geography; from maths and computing to biotechnology; and many more. Our collaborative set-up provides new opportunities for our students, and we design our courses with industry professionals to ensure you stay up to date with the latest developments.
The School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering offers a range of teaching and research activities, delivering a portfolio of courses from foundation degrees right through to doctoral level.
The School has a hands-on teaching approach. Our courses encompass applications from all areas of engineering, providing our students with the knowledge and flexibility they need to work across many industries, both in the UK and overseas.
"I am course director of the Mechatronic Systems MSc and Automotive Engineering MSc courses. I work closely with the Faculty's Industrial Advisory Board and actively involved with Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs); ensuring that our courses help you to meet the expectations of employers and develop your career progression; allowing you to work within a cross-disciplinary environment.
My specialist teaching areas are in electronics and controls, mechatronics and automation, embedded systems and robotics.
The research I am currently involved with is an industrial project on dynamic system modelling (stable platform) and electronic rapid prototyping of this system. I am also involved in work on biomechanics and robotics, including real-time embedded implementation.
I am a member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and have a background in electrical and electronic engineering working in research and development in industry and developing academic programmes in higher education.
