Aspiring social worker Nancy Benson spent one week researching her university options before deciding to apply to Kingston University through Clearing.
“About this time last year after a conversation with my mum, I decided I wanted to become a social worker. I spent a week researching all of the universities and courses in London,” said the Haringey resident.
“I was really drawn to the diversity of Kingston University and the fact the University has campuses for different faculties which makes it easy to find your way around.”
Nancy telephoned the University’s Clearing Hotline, where she received expert advice about the courses available and how to secure her place.
“The lady on the phone was very sweet and efficient. She guided me through the process for applying to my course and organised for me to meet the admissions tutor the following day. Within two days, my place at Kingston University was confirmed and I was all set to start university in a couple of weeks.”
Now one year into her three-year BA (Hons) Social Work degree, Nancy hasn‘t looked back. “Kingston is a great university. I love my course and the lectures are fun and engaging. I made friends quickly. Kingston and social work were absolutely the right choice for me.”
For anyone thinking of applying directly to Kingston University through Clearing, Nancy’s advice is simple. “Do your research. Find out which university and course best suits you. If you need advice, you can call the Kingston University Clearing Hotline. They will give you all the information and support you need to find the right course for you.”
Josie Newton, BA (Hons) social work course lead at Kingston University, said Nancy was on track for a new career as a social worker. “Nancy has done really well in her first year and I’ve no doubt she’ll make a terrific social worker in time.
