About
Dr Purva Tavri is a Chartered Environmentalist, Chartered Waste Manager, a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, Environmental Planner & Architect, with over 15 years of experience in sustainability and waste management.
She is a Centre Councillor in the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) London & Southeast Centre and an Advisory Member Higher Education & Industry Connect of the G100 club.
Purva is a trained researcher with her doctoral research on exploring how organisations adopt reuse behaviour in practice. She has also received awards from CIWM, International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and Inspiring Indian Women (IIW) for her publications. She has been nominated by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management Equality, Diversity and Inclusion group as one of the influential women in the industry.
Purva aims to achieve longevity by bringing individuals and organisations to a self-sustainable level and always aims to combine research and practice for a better environment and well-being in society.

- Leading on the School-wide Sustainability for Professional Practice module (EG4022) in collaboration with CSCM department, Sustainability leads (academic and operations) and HackCentre. Bringing real-life challenges for the students to work in groups to come up with solutions using problem-solving skills and methods.
MSc in Environmental management
- Leading on the Environmental Management module (GG7045) and developing relationships with professionals to come for guest talks. The pool of professionals consists of alumni, the private sector, the public sector, and SMEs. Bringing theory and practice together in the class-room.
- Leading on MSc supervision projects based on collaboration with businesses, charities, and other institutions and are real-life-based projects.
