Mrs Francina Hyatt

I was inspired to train as a nurse when working as a Healthcare Assistant at the Princess Alice Hospice, and became a qualified nurse in 1989. My clinical experience includes roles in A&E, community nursing, practice nursing and walk-in centres. I am an experienced Senior Lecturer having previously worked as a PCT clinical nurse trainer for 11 years. My role includes teaching and assessing student nurses, nursing associates, return to practice students, post-registration nurses and healthcare support workers. I co-lead on the final year skills and simulated learning modules and am the HCA short courses and study day lead, I am actively involved in promoting the university as a provider of education for this staff group. I regularly review and update skills.net procedures. My passion to teach, write and promote best practice is enabled through my 35 years of nursing patients including a previous nurse practitioner/non-medical prescriber role in a general practice.
