About
After a 20-year career in industry practice, I transitioned into academia, bringing my extensive and practical knowledge of leadership, organisational psychology and learning and development to the classroom.
I am currently Head of Department of Management having previously been responsible for course leadership of the BSc (Hons) Business Management for three and half years. Through my time at Kingston University I have led and taught on several different modules in the areas of Organisational Behaviour, Psychology of Coaching, Learning & Development and Careers & Professional Development within both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
I hold a Senior Fellowship in Higher Education and have received awards internally for teaching excellence.
My career began as a strategic marketer and consultant working for award-winning independent and global marketing agencies, consulting and developing campaigns for well-known Blue Chip businesses such as Unilever and PepsiCo. I also experienced in-house marketing roles at Sony Pictures UK and Nokia UK. As I attained board-level leadership, my career increasingly focused on people and organisational development blended with business strategy. It was at this point my passion for learning and teaching came to the forefront.
I hold an MSc in Occupational & Business Psychology and certifications in coaching and psychometrics which has led me to work as an independent consultant and coach supporting leaders, managers and teams to optimise performance.
My research interest is in HE pedagogy and particularly in supporting classroom engagement and graduate employability.
