Educational agencies

Choosing to study in the UK, whether with us or somewhere else, is one of the most important decisions you can make. To support with this decision, some students consider using the services of an education agent when applying to us.

Education agents provide a range of services to support you – from identifying the right university and course to guiding you through the application and enrolment process. They can also assist with visa applications, travel, and accommodation arrangements.

Transferring credits to Kingston from the USA

We will consider transfer students for advanced placement onto our degree programmes. However, the faculty teaching the course has the final decision on whether or not to accept your credits and we cannot guarantee that all credits earned will be applied to your degree.

We suggest looking at the specific classes Kingston University students complete in the first year of the subject area you want to study. If you have completed all of those classes (known as 'modules' in the UK), your chances are pretty good of being accepted onto Year 2. Remember that there are no general education requirements in the UK so these classes will not transfer. Only core subjects can be considered for transfer credit.

It is very difficult for students to transfer credits to Kingston School of Art due to the highly competitive nature of the programmes and the high quality of Kingston students' work. However, your portfolio should be strong if you have completed a year at university. It is the quality of your portfolio that will ultimately determine if you are accepted onto Year 1 or Year 2 of the degree.

Students in the UK apply online for undergraduate study through an agency called UCAS. When making your UCAS application, always select 'Year 2 entry' on the application form. This does not guarantee your admission to Year 2 - but it will notify the department that you have a transcript to review. Otherwise they think you have just completed high school.

Why transfer to Kingston?

You will be able to complete your degree more quickly - bachelors degrees are only three years in duration, and masters degrees one year.
We can give you financial advice. We participate in the US Federal Loan programme and can offer you advice about receiving your US student loans abroad. We also have a scholarship available to students from the USA.
You will have opportunities to work in London. Most students can work part time on or off campus while studying, and then work full time in the UK for up to two years after graduation.
We will offer you plenty of support. Over 100 American students join us each year to study undergraduate and graduate degrees. We welcome them with a great orientation programme and a social to meet each other. Our American students celebrate Thanksgiving on campus, publish newsletters twice a semester, and have a North American student society.

Kingston University is delighted to offer its BBA (Hons) Business Administration course / BSc (Hons) International Business with the SVKM's NMIMS (deemed-to-be-university) in Mumbai, India to provide an alternative way to study a Kingston University degree.

You can study the first two years of your Kingston University degree at NMIMS Centre for International Studies (CIS), formerly known as SVKM's Institute of International Studies, in Mumbai and then one year at Kingston Business School, London.

The programme is a Dual Degree Program; following successful completion of third year at Kingston University, students are awarded a degree from NMIMS University as a BBA (International Business), and from Kingston University as BBA (Hons) Business Administration/ BSc (Hons) International Business.

You also have the option of spending a fourth year in a work placement. After completion of fourth (optional) year, you will graduate with BBA (Hons) Business Administration/ BSc (Hons) International Business with Professional Placement, a Kingston University degree.

It is a very cost-effective way to study for a UK bachelor degree. You would save considerable costs, both in fees and living expenses, by spending the first two years in Mumbai, whilst still gaining international experience and a Kingston University degree by transferring to the UK in the final year.

The collaboration has been running since 2006. We have seen more than 500 students graduating via this programme to date, and are extremely proud of their success. Our alumni are very well placed at junior management and senior managerial positions in top-ranked companies.

We have a long-established and extremely successful partnership with the Asian Aviation Centre (AAC) in Sri Lanka.

Students can study the first two years of Aerospace Engineering at the Asian Aviation Centre in Sri Lanka, and then transfer to study the final year of their degree at Kingston University London.

Foundation	Successful completion of Tawjihiyya or Secondary School Certificate. A portfolio of art work is also required for the Art and Design Foundation course
Undergraduate	Associate degree (American University Dubai). Associated Diploma and Higher Diploma qualifications. A-levels or International Baccalaureate. Recognised Foundation course in the UK. Holders of recognised post-secondary qualifications will be considered for advanced standing into second or possibly final year for some courses
Postgraduate taught masters	Bachelor degree from a recognised university with a minimum grade of GPA 2.6/4 or GPA 3.0/5 or 65%. For certain courses, work experience will also be required. Please see the postgraduate course page for specific course entry details
Postgraduate research	Postgraduate masters degree

Medium of Instruction (MOI)

We consider Medium of Instruction (MOI) as proof of English language abilities from the approved institutions listed below:

INSEAD Business School, Abu Dhabi

Eligibility: Applicants must provide a MOI letter or a transcript confirming 100% English-taught education at an approved institution.

Validity: MOI letter valid for five years; Franchise and Affiliated provision permitted by an MOI will not be acceptable for an English language level waiver.

Admissions process: MOI letter can be submitted alongside other supporting documents, or at the conditional offer stage requesting evidence.
