Beenish is board member of IMechE MICG (Mechatronics, Informatics and Control Group), Senior member IEEE and fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She has PhD, MSc and BEng (Hons) degrees in Electronics Engineering. She is working as a Lecturer Mechatronics Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment since September 2020. Before this she worked as a Lecturer Electronic Engineering at Royal Holloway University of London.
In her PhD research work at University of Aberdeen she developed a 3D node deployment technique for underwater wireless sensor network and a dynamically reconfigurable (self-sustainable) routing protocol for underwater wireless sensor networking. She won the best presentation award for her research work in an international conference (ICST 2014). Her research interests are Robotic Wireless Sensor Networks, Control and Sustainable Engineering. She also has work experience with Siemens.
