Dr Julia Gale

As a Head of the School of Nursing, I have strategic responsibility for the leadership and management of the School of Nursing and for ensuring excellence in education across the fields of adult, mental health, learning disability and children's nursing. I have extensive experience of leading the development and delivery of pre-registration nursing and developing sustainable models of education to meet student and workforce needs.  I also have extensive experience in preparing tenders for new business and enterprise and have won a number of high profile contracts both nationally and internationally.  My experience also extends to the chairing of validation events and internal quality audits within and across two parent universities.  My role interfaces with the NHS, Strategic Health Authorities, national professional bodies and the national arena for nursing. I am a senior member of the Faculty Management Group, an appointed Governor for Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and an Aurora Role Model for the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education. As an active researcher my most recent research has included a Health Education South London funded project as part of Health Education London on Adult Nurse Turnover and Retention: South London and a project looking at student nurses' maths anxiety.
