I am an academic researcher, university lecturer, and business consultant who is curious about the human behaviour in organisations. My research looks into the broader fit between individuals and organisations. In particular, I research personality traits, workplace stressors, corporate social responsibility, and employer branding, and how they impact employees' wellbeing, performance, and career success. I have a passionate interest in advanced quantitative research methods and use them in my studies and consultancy practices.
I regularly collaborate with industry for various research and consultancy projects in the UK and across the globe. My research findings and evidence-based recommendations have been extensively used by my partnering organisations.
During my doctoral research, I collaborated with Standard Chartered Bank and researched their branches and operations across 13 countries. I developed an employer brand model and investigated employee responses to the employer brand (e.g., organisational commitment, turnover, in-role performance). My doctoral thesis was approved without corrections and my examiners nominated it for the King's-Elsevier Outstanding Thesis Prize (2015).
More recently, I have collaborated with the UK's Post Office and examined their engagement and wellbeing practices, along with the outcomes of these practices for their line managers' engagement, career success, in-role performance, and turnover.
I am also a former Human Resources practitioner and had worked in various managerial roles in multinational organisations for about a decade before my academic career. My experience as a practitioner is an invaluable source of inspiration for my research, teaching, and consulting practices now.
I am serving as an external examiner for the MSc in Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management programme of Birkbeck, University of London since 2018. I regularly attend academic conferences and act as a reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals, such as Human Relations, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, and Human Resource Management Journal.
