Mr Jan Goodey

About

My work as a journalist includes environmental investigations for Resurgence & The Ecologist magazine, New Internationalist magazine, Ecologist online and Red Pepper magazine as well as iNews and iNewspaper.

In 2022 I have a chapter entitled Policing the High Speed 2 (HS2) train line – repression and collusion along Europe's biggest infrastructure project by Jan Goodey and Andrea Brock, in the book Enforcing Ecocide: Power, Policing & Planetary Militarization, Editors Alexander Dunlap, Andrea Brock, published by Palgrave Macmillan 2022.

Since November 2013 I have been leading journalistic/academic investigations into UK Local Government Pension Schemes (published as exclusives in national newspapers in 2014: Independent on Sunday/i newspaper).

I undertook a six month investigation in  collaboration with the Bureau of  Investigative Journalism, London (Jan-July 2017) looking at unethical investments using public sector pension funds which resulted in international stories on a baby formula milk scandal and coal mining set to destroy the Great Barrier Reef.

I'm now writing a number of magazine investigations into the Climate Emergency.

More recently I have been investigating the existential  threats faced by National Parks which have resulted in the following publications:
