I have been a social worker since 2001. My SWE registration number is SW62603.
I have worked in a range of social work roles including in child protection and children with disabilities teams, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Shooting Star Chase Children's Hospice. I have also worked in adult services, setting up and running a project for 'Children In Need' at Princess Alice Hospice, as well as being a community social worker. Between 2018-2022 I was the lead chief assessor for the National Assessment and Accreditation System (NAAS), a National pilot project accrediting children and families social work practitioners and supervisors.
I have worked at the University since 2009 in a variety of roles alongside working in practice. I am a qualified practice educator and practice assessor.
I am currently a senior lecturer at the university and module leader for SW6013 Final Practice Learning Experience (Apprenticeship), SW4001b Readiness for Direct Practice (MSW), SW5001b First Placement Module (MSW) and SW7011b Practice Education Module (Post Graduate Certificate in Practice Education). Between Sept 22 and Dec 22 I am covering as Course Leader for the Post Graduate Certificate in Practice Education Courses and I am responsible for supporting practice assessors working with trainee practice educators. I am also a tutor to students across the social work programmes.
