Throughout my career I have always taken a strong interest in professional development; before joining the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences I worked at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy as professional adviser in professional development.
My principle role in the Department is to manage the practice education programme for pre-registration physiotherapy students. I work closely with practice educators to enable appropriate support. I am the Department's Disability and Dylexia tutor. I contribute to other modules. My research interests reflect practice education and my continuing part-time practice in amputee rehabilitation.
I have worked in a variety of roles at several large hospitals in London and currently have an honorary contract with St George's NHS Trust. I take an active role in the physiotherapy amputee rehabilitation professional network BACPAR (past chair) and apply my clinical experience to medico-legal report writing. More recently I have used my clinical expertise abroad post sudden onset disaster.
