Aerospace Engineering MEng/BEng(Hons): Entry requirements

Entry requirements for 2018

Typical offer: BEng(Hons)

  • Points: minimum 112.
  • A Levels: from three A Levels to include Maths and Science Subject (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). General studies and Native Language are not included in tariff points. 
  • BTEC National: Extended Diploma in Engineering or related subject (Aerospace/Aeronautical/Electrical/Electronic/Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering considered) – 128 points if Engineering; 144 points if Applied Science.
  • Access to HE in a suitable Engineering subject: passed required with all Maths and Physics modules at Level 3 with Distinction grades.
  • GCSE: Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A*-C including Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE grading).

  • Points: minimum 128.
  • From three A Levels to include Maths and two Science Subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Maths). General Studies and Native Language are not included in tariff points. 
  • BTEC National: Extended Diploma in Engineering or related subject (Aerospace/Aeronautical/Electrical/Electronic/Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering considered) – 144 points if Engineering; 152 if Applied Science. 
  • GCSE: Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A*-C including Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE grading).

Other entry routes 

  • Engineering foundation year.
  • We will consider a range of alternative qualifications or experience that are equivalent to those listed above. Applications from international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome. Please contact us for details.

  • BTEC National: Extended Diploma in Engineering or related subject (Aerospace/Aeronautical/Electrical/Electronic/Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering considered) – 128 points (grades DDM) if Engineering; 144 points (grades DDD) if Applied Science.
  • Access to HE in a suitable Engineering subject: Equivalent of 112 points with all Maths and Physics modules at Level 3 passed with Distinction grades.
  • GCSE: Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A*-C including Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE grading).

Interviews, entrance tests, auditions and portfolios

Entry on to this course does not require an interview, entrance test, audition or portfolio.

If you don't meet the above entry requirements our International Foundation Year can prepare you for entry progression onto this degree course.
