Everything you need to know now that you have chosen Kingston

Confirmation

What happens when I get my results?

If you've made Kingston your firm or insurance choice, you should have received an email from us with a username (your KU student ID) and password to log in to our online student information system (OSIS).

You can log into OSIS on British A-level results day (14 August 2014) to see straight away if you have a place here at Kingston. Alternatively you can use your secure UCAS PIN to view your UCAS application online at www.ucas.com. Once your place is confirmed, sit back and relax!

If you're not taking A-levels, please email aps@kingston.ac.uk with your results as soon as you get them so we can confirm your place.

If you don't get the results you need to come to Kingston

We may still be able to confirm your place or offer you a place on an alternative course that suits your needs. First check OSIS to see whether you have been offered a place or an alternative course.

What happens next?

Once you have confirmed your place, we will email you from 26 August 2014 onwards with information about updating your details online (stage one of enrolment). If you're an international student, you will be able to upload your passport and, if you're coming on a Tier 4 student visa, request your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) (also done through OSIS).

Logging on to OSIS

How do I log into OSIS?: Log in to OSIS using the link below and (if you haven't already done so) you'll be prompted to change your temporary password (the one that we sent you) to a permanent one (that you'll find easier to remember).

If you have problems logging into OSIS, it may be because you have a place confirmed by another university. Just give us a call if you need to check this.

Upload a copy of your valid passport, an image for your ID card and complete 'your fee status': If you haven't already done so, don't forget to upload a copy of your passport to OSIS and complete the 'your fee status' task.

This will make sure that we're charging you the right fees – the rate for Home (UK/EU) students or the rate for overseas students. We will email you direct to confirm the outcome of the fee assessment and/or if we need any further information from you.

If you've already emailed us a copy of your passport we'll have added it to OSIS for you so you don't need to upload another copy.

If you haven't already done so, you also need to upload an image for your ID card, as well as a copy of your valid passport by following the link on the OSIS homepage.

International students – request your CAS: If you're an international student coming to UK on a Tier 4 student visa, you need to request your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) through OSIS so that you can apply for a visa.

What is confirmation?

This is when we officially confirm that you have a place here at Kingston, and you confirm that you want to take it up.

Once you've received your qualification or exam results, log on to our online student information system (OSIS) or UCAS Track. This will let you know whether you've been successful in getting a place at Kingston. If you've narrowly missed out on your offer requirements, we may offer you a place on an alternative course (which you can choose to either accept or decline).

Check out our flowchart on the main Kingston site so you know what to expect.

What if I don't get the grades I need?

If you miss your grades by just a small margin, we may still be able to confirm your place or offer you an alternative course that suits your interests through Clearing.

First check OSIS to see whether you have been offered a place or an alternative course.

Alternatively, call our confirmation line on 0844 842 9599 (for UK-based callers and +44 20 8328 1149 for non-UK callers). The line will be open from 8.30am on Thursday 14 August 2014.
