Life as a Kingston student

Now that you are seriously thinking about joining us at Kingston University, you probably have lots of questions about what it's like to live and study here. And who better to tell you than our current students?

Get a taste of what life is like at Kingston by visiting our Ask Us site. You can read students' blogs, watch videos and see photos. From completing their assignments on time to looking for accommodation or having a night out with friends, they tell it like it really is! Why not log in and ask them some questions?

We know that coming to university can be a big step – whether it's for the first time or you're returning to study – so we do everything we can to support you. And don't forget that the Students' Union is there to help you out too, whether you want to find a place to play football or need advice about an academic problem.

What our students say about the different campuses:

Emma, Fine Art student"The Knights Park campus is like one big creative platform where your given so many opportunities to explore your own artist interests, and along the way your supported by your fellow peers and tutors. It's a fantastic environment to grow and work in. It's a serene campus hidden from distractions with a quaint little river running along side it. This peaceful atmosphere makes studying here a joy."

Hollie, Forensic Chemistry student "The Penrhyn Road campus is such a good place to study. It's the home of so many different courses that its students are really diverse. Plus it has the John Galsworthy building – still quite a new building full of lecture rooms, classrooms and computer rooms, and the library now has a cafe which makes it a more sociable place to be."

Irene, Aerospace Engineering student"The Roehampton Vale campus is like a hive of buzzy bees, consisting of all the engineering students, lecturers, lab technicians and other staff members. It really does feel like being at home – everyone knows everyone so if you ever have any questions, just ask someone and they will be happy to help. If you go to the canteen, library or lectures everyone is sitting in groups – we share close ties, which leads to lots of brilliant ideas!"

Greg, Music student "The Kingston Hill campus is a spacious yet bustling hive of activity, with students from many different courses mingling together. The Learning Resources Centre (LRC) has recently been refurbished and looks fantastic, as well as being very user friendly. And if the LRC doesn't sound appealing, then there's always the bar!"
